The Milwaukee Bucks have chosen to partner with the league for their new streaming service, Bucks+, bypassing an alternative arrangement with DAZN that is being utilized by several other franchises. Fans wishing to watch local broadcasts via the team platform can subscribe for twenty dollars each month or one hundred dollars per season, foregoing a potential financial payout offered by DAZN.
According to industry reporting, this shift was heavily influenced by the organization trading superstar player Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. Executives reportedly believed that supporters would have followed the athlete to any external service, whereas the post-trade era prompted a preference for the familiar integration provided by the official league application and team website.
Alongside this digital initiative, the organization secured over-the-air local broadcast agreements valued between seven million and eight million dollars. This move makes the franchise only the second across the league to utilize the NBA's internal streaming infrastructure, following the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The arrangement grants the league valuable operational experience ahead of a planned centralized broadcasting hub slated for the 2027-28 campaign that will centralize digital rights for all thirty participating teams.
