Former Notre Dame standout Olivia Miles captured the league's top rookie honor on Monday following a stellar debut campaign with Minnesota. She posted averages of 19.8 points, 6.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per contest while converting 49.2 percent of her shots.
Miles set a new league standard for most points by a first-year player with 790 total, joining Jewell Loyd as the only former Fighting Irish players to secure the accolade. She also became just the second rookie in professional history to pace the top-performing squad in scoring after the Lynx finished their regular schedule with a 33-11 mark, and she remains a contender for the most valuable player trophy.
Meanwhile, the top-seeded Lynx dropped their opening playoff matchup 91-75 against the eighth-seeded New York Liberty.
