A jersey donned by Michael Jordan during the second game of the 1998 NBA Finals has fetched $14 million at auction. The sale, facilitated by Hunt Auctions, saw the historic garment purchased by a real estate investor based in Miami.
This specific uniform represents a significant piece of the Bulls' final championship run under Jordan, who averaged 33.5 points throughout that series. Although the price is substantial, it remains below the $24.12 million record set by a Babe Ruth jersey earlier this year.
This transaction marks the third time a jersey from those specific Finals has surpassed the $10 million threshold.
