The Miami Marlins are reshaping their broadcast team after underwhelming performance in fan rankings. The organization has decided to part ways with longtime TV voice Kyle Sielaff and analyst Jeff Nelson, ending their tenures after just two seasons for Sielaff and multiple rotations in recent years.
Former Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez will step into the primary television analyst role, joining a revamped booth that will also include a second analyst. Meanwhile, current radio announcer Jack McMullen is poised to replace Sielaff as the team’s TV voice, following strong interim work during August and praise for his natural talent and preparation.
The Marlins’ booth has struggled in recent years, finishing 26th and 28th in Awful Announcing’s local announcer rankings, while the radio booth ranked 29th—though McMullen’s individual contributions earned high marks as a standout improvement. The changes mark the latest in a pattern of frequent turnover, following the departures of Rich Waltz in 2017 and Paul Severino after the 2024 season.
The Marlins have historically cycled through broadcasters, with three analysts rotating through the 2026 season before Hutton’s retirement and Nelson’s departure. Sanchez, a former Miami Hurricanes player, will now anchor the TV booth, while McMullen’s transition from radio to television aims to inject fresh energy into the team’s on-air product.
The moves reflect broader efforts to elevate the Marlins’ broadcast presence amid ongoing criticism of its polish and charisma.
