Merson: I'm worried for Liverpool - how long can they wait for Wirtz?

Paul Merson has voiced serious apprehension regarding Liverpool following their recent goalless stalemate against Fulham at Anfield. The outcome marked a third draw in four top-flight outings, leaving the team occupying seventh spot in the Premier League rankings.

Merson suggested manager Andoni Iraola may be finding the transition from his former club Bournemouth challenging, noting that expectations on Merseyside are vastly different and calling for more expansive tactics as Arsenal and Manchester City pull away.

Scrutiny was also directed at recent big-money acquisitions Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola. While expressing admiration for Wirtz, Merson questioned how patiently Liverpool can afford to wait for the playmaker to find his rhythm, while also arguing that Barcola's speed might lack the subtle guile previously demonstrated by players like Mohamed .
