Lincoln Riley fails to give USC fans confidence for future | Opinion

USC managed a victory against Washington, yet the unconvincing performance left supporters doubting the program's trajectory under head coach Lincoln Riley. Throughout the contest, sloppy execution plagued the Trojans, highlighted by costly penalties that negated a touchdown and gifted points to the opposition, alongside a second-half meltdown and a stagnant ground attack.

Quarterback Jayden Maiava struggled to connect with his targets, while questionable decision-making led to backup Jonas Williams handling two-point conversions instead of the starter. Defensive lapses, including a crucial coverage breakdown on a fourth-down conversion, underscored persistent issues that remain unaddressed in Riley's fifth season.
