Leeds City achieved a dominant sweep at the regional road relays held in Sunderland, capturing both the men's championship and defending their crown in the women's division. Despite a strong challenge from Salford Harriers, the victors secured the men's trophy thanks to standout efforts from runners such as John Beattie and Phil Sesemann, while Joe Hudson of Keighley and Craven delivered the quickest individual stage time of the day.
