LeBron James’ agent Rich Paul explains what 76ers offer that Lakers couldn’t

Months after LeBron James shifted teams from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, his representative Rich Paul discussed the motivation behind the move during an appearance on the Game Over podcast. Alongside Max Kellerman, Paul noted that joining the 76ers allowed the veteran forward to align with supporting talent capable of carrying heavy workloads at this stage of his career, letting him avoid unsustainable roles.

Kellerman added that a geographical change unlocked this opportunity, a sentiment Paul endorsed. Meanwhile, the Lakers managed to bolster their supporting roster around Luka Doncic through free agency following the departure, leading both organizations to claim the top spots in their respective divisions thus far.
