Kyle Shanahan wants Raheem Morris with 49ers ‘for as long as I’m here’

Kyle Shanahan has expressed a strong desire to retain defensive coordinator Raheem Morris long-term, citing the coach's positive impact on the 49ers' secondary. Since reuniting with Shanahan this season, Morris has successfully implemented a more aggressive coverage scheme that emphasizes independent play from defensive backs, leading to improved performance from players like Renardo Green, Deommodore Lenoir, Upton Stout, and Malik Mustapha.

The team currently ranks third in the league for both points allowed per game and EPA allowed per play despite facing personnel challenges.
