Kenya must be 'clean' to be credible, says Wada chief

During his meetings in the capital with government leadership, sports officials, law enforcement representatives, and competitors, the visiting official stressed that solid outcomes must follow governmental assurances.

Since 2017, a significant number of distance runners have faced suspensions, prompting intensified oversight of the region's integrity measures. While local leaders have shown political interest in developing a domestic testing facility, officials noted that establishing an accredited laboratory is a lengthy process that will not be completed before the upcoming international event.
