Kent make good start against Gloucs in promotion bid

Kent made a solid opening statement in their pursuit of promotion by restricting their opponents to a total of 229 runs on the opening day at Canterbury after electing to bowl first. Matt Milnes led the bowling attack with four crucial wickets, while James Bracey anchored the opposing innings with a top score of 86 runs before being dismissed.

In response, Kent finished the first day at 71 for the loss of one wicket, trailing by 158 runs. Ben Compton and Sam Northeast stabilized the innings through an unbeaten partnership after JT Langridge claimed the early scalp of Zak Crawley.
