The Dallas Cowboys have acquired cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick and a 2028 second-round selection.
The transaction concluded following a contract dispute that prevented a long-term extension before the 2026 NFL season, during which the defensive back missed the first three games due to a back injury and conditioning issues.
This agreement represents the third deal between the two franchises since the 2025 offseason. Previously, Dallas acquired wide receiver George Pickens in May 2025 and offensive tackle Broderick Jones in August 2026, continuing a steady pipeline of former Pittsburgh high-round draft choices moving to Texas.
