Jeremiah Smith continues to topple records as OSU WR closes in on Big Ten TD mark

Jeremiah Smith has amassed 513 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 27 catches over his last three games, pushing him past the previous Ohio State marks for receptions and touchdown catches and placing him near the top of the Big Ten career lists. He sits at 38 career touchdown receptions, one shy of tying the conference record held by Braylon Edwards, and his 3,474 receiving yards rank him fifth all‑time in the league, just ahead of Lee Evans.

Ahead of Ohio State’s week‑7 road game against Indiana, Smith is poised to tie or break the Big Ten touchdown‑reception record, while Indiana coach Curt Cignetti called him a “wow player” and “a freak,” emphasizing his unique impact at this level.
