Jalen Brunson named Athlete of the Year by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association

New York point guard Jalen Brunson has captured yet another major accolade, earning the Professional Athlete of the Year recognition from the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association. The organization highlighted his clutch execution, leadership qualities, and deep ties to the regional basketball community.

PSWA president Mike Shute remarked that the former Villanova standout consistently rises to the occasion during critical moments, placing him alongside legendary sports icons who previously received the distinction. Brunson is scheduled to accept the trophy during the upcoming annual banquet hosted at the University of Pennsylvania.

The announcement preceded an opening matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers to launch the new league cup tournament.
