Ishan Kishan tipped to replace Tilak Varma as India T20I vice-captain

Former international cricketer Aakash Chopra has tipped wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan to eventually take over the T20I vice-captaincy from Tilak Varma. Chopra's remarks follow Kishan's unbeaten knock of 80 runs from 46 deliveries during the Asian Games semi-final against Sri Lanka.

India successfully defended a total of 169 runs by bowling out their opponents for 45 to secure a 124-run victory.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also contributed significantly with a score of 38 runs from 21 balls during the innings. With this win, India advanced to the gold-medal match to face Pakistan. The final fixture is scheduled for October 3 at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.
