IOA acknowledges clothing issue as Indian men's cricketers face setback ahead of departure for Asian Games: Report

Ahead of their journey to Aichi-Nagoya on Sunday morning, the Indian men's cricket squad captained by Shreyas Iyer encountered uniform fitting setbacks. The issues stemmed from exchanges between the BCCI and IOA kit supplier JSW Inspire, complicated by the requirement for two different outfits: standard gear for a September 22 clash with Japan, followed by designated tournament uniforms when Asian Games competition begins on September 28.

While Olympic officials confirmed that most apparel discrepancies have been corrected, a handful of players were still waiting on replacements.

In addition to the kit complications, the BCCI opted out of IOA-assigned lodging to book a separate hotel due to space constraints, specifically citing inadequate room to store players' equipment bags. The Indian women's team remained in the official housing without complaint, whereas the men also face broader logistical uncertainties regarding the standard of the cricket grounds and pitches in Nagoya.
