IOA acknowledges clothing issue as Indian men's cricketers face setback ahead of departure for Asian Games: Report

Ahead of their scheduled Sunday departure for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, the Indian men's cricket squad, captained by Shreyas Iyer, encountered logistical hurdles involving their uniforms and lodging. Apparel supplier JSW Inspire and the Indian Olympic Association worked to correct multiple uniform sizing mistakes before takeoff, with a small number of replacement outfits still pending delivery.

Because the team contests a solitary Twenty20 international against Japan on September 22 before entering tournament play on September 28, the athletes require both standard bilateral attire and certified Asian Games kits.

In addition to the clothing mix-up, the Board of Control for Cricket in India opted out of the IOA-provided housing, booking an independent hotel after initial accommodations proved too cramped to house the players' large equipment luggage. While India's women's squad accepted the official tournament housing, the men's side secured alternate rooms amidst wider concerns regarding local cricket amenities and pitch quality in Nagoya.
