Instant reactions to Notre Dame’s escape of North Carolina on the road

Notre Dame improved to an undefeated 5-0 record following a 37-26 road victory against North Carolina in rainy Chapel Hill during Week 5. Quarterback CJ Carr guided the offense by completing 21 of 29 pass attempts for 234 yards and four touchdowns while adding another rushing score, bolstering his status as a Heisman contender.

Defensively, Boubacar Traore led the squad in tackles, adding crucial pass deflections that ended up in the hands of teammate Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. North Carolina dropped to 2-2 after utilizing a game plan crafted by Bill Belichick, though strong second-half adjustments and dominant third-quarter rushing allowed the visiting Irish to pull away.
