The Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces have captivated WNBA audiences like never before, with their first-round playoff series setting historic viewership records across all three games. The matchup drew an average of 1.3 million viewers—up 37% from last year—with two games surpassing 2 million viewers each.
Game 3, the series-clincher, peaked at 2.7 million viewers at its highest point, marking the most-watched WNBA playoff game since the 2024 Round 1 Game 2. The series also broke records for cross-network viewership, airing on ABC, Amazon Prime, and USA Network, with Game 3’s 2.25 million average viewers becoming the highest-rated first-round playoff game in league history.
The rivalry’s star power played a key role, as A’ja Wilson delivered a career-high 38 points in Game 1 while earning her third AP WNBA Player of the Year award, while Caitlin Clark responded with 27 points and 15 assists in Game 2, becoming the first player in league history to record a triple-double in a playoff game with at least 25 points and 15 assists. The drama extended beyond the court, as the Aces had eliminated Indiana in a five-game series just last season, including an overtime thriller in the clincher, where Las Vegas went on to win the championship despite Clark’s injury-plagued season.
Even the regular-season showdown between the two teams in July drew 2.64 million viewers, the most-watched Sunday game since 1998 and the second-highest regular-season audience since 2000, with Indiana winning decisively in a 109-75 blowout.
