Kylian Mbappe has disclosed how close he came to signing with Liverpool back in 2016 while playing for Monaco, despite ultimately choosing to remain in his home country. Former manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that the Premier League club provided a private aircraft for the forward and his relatives to discuss a potential transfer.

Although his mother toured Merseyside and strongly favored the destination, the young athlete elected to sign with Paris St-Germain to build his legacy locally before later moving to Real Madrid.
