West Indies avoided a series whitewash against India thanks to an unbeaten century from their captain during the final one-day international. Shai Hope guided his squad past a target of 351 with five wickets in hand and ten deliveries remaining, finishing the innings with 162 runs off 143 balls.
Support came from teammates Amir Jangoo and Keemo Paul, who contributed 67 and 44 runs respectively as the visitors closed out the series with a 1-2 scoreline.
Following the contest, Hope revealed that guidance from MS Dhoni played a key role in his successful batting effort. He explained that a prior chat with the former Indian player helped him manage his pacing, maintain composure under pressure, and capitalize on fielding restrictions during the latter stages of the chase despite battling groin discomfort.
