After completely revamping their roster at the previous mega-auction by retaining only Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney, the Gujarat Giants approach the upcoming 2027 Women's Premier League mini-auction with minimal adjustments required. Head coach Michael Klinger explained that the franchise has already met its 15-player minimum and released just four athletes, namely Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Titas Sadhu, Ayushi Soni, and Shivani Singh, leaving the core starting eleven intact.
Klinger noted that the timing of the mini-auction presents a unique hurdle as it occurs merely two days after the commencement of the domestic calendar. He added that the team will primarily look for depth pieces and potentially an overseas option to provide tactical variety.
The squad aims to improve upon last year's campaign, which ended with a defeat in the Eliminator phase following a second-place finish in the league stage. Additionally, wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia is slated to feature after missing the previous season due to an injury.
