Gophers football: Center Ashton Beers is out for the season

Minnesota offensive lineman Ashton Beers will miss the remainder of the 2026 campaign due to a severe lower leg injury sustained previously against the Zips. This development leaves the squad scrambling for depth after backup Brett Carroll was already sidelined for the year during preseason practices.

Head coach P.J. Fleck shifted Greg Johnson to the pivot position ahead of a narrow victory over the Huskies, while Jaden Ball stepped in at left guard before appearing on the team's latest injury report.
