Glasgow record bonus-point win at emotion-filled Sale

Glasgow Warriors dominated Sale Sharks 47-27 in a poignant Investec Champions Cup match at CorpAcq Stadium, securing a bonus-point win under emotionally charged circumstances. The game began with a minute’s silence honoring Hyron Andrews, the Sale lock who passed away unexpectedly before the tournament, prompting tributes from both teams.

Sale took an early lead through Ben Curry’s breakaway try and Arron Reed’s finish, but Glasgow’s resilience turned the tide with a penalty try, Kyle Steyn’s winger dash, and a flurry of late tries from Jamie Dobie, Rory Darge, Franco Smith, and Ottavio Tuipulotu. The Warriors’ try bonus—earned by outscoring Sale by three tries—cemented their dominance, though their quarter-final exit to Toulon last season lingers as a reminder of their tournament’s unpredictability.

Both teams now face December fixtures, with Glasgow hosting Pau and Sale traveling to Dublin for a clash with Leinster.
