Glasgow overpower Connacht to maintain unbeaten start

Glasgow Warriors dominated Connacht in a commanding display at home, securing a 36–19 victory to extend their unbeaten run in the United Rugby Championship. The Warriors’ relentless maul-based attack proved decisive, with five tries—two from Gregor Hiddleston, one each from Rory Darge, Josh McKay, and Seb Stephen—propelling them to an early lead.

Connacht’s early momentum faded after Sean Jansen’s try, as Glasgow’s physicality exposed defensive vulnerabilities, including a sin-bin booking for Connacht prop Sam Illo. A standout moment came when Dan Lancaster’s precision cross-field kick set up McKay’s bonus-point try, sealing the Warriors’ bonus-point win despite Connacht’s late tries from Josh Ioane.

George Horne’s four conversions and Lancaster’s late penalty ensured Glasgow’s maximum points, while Connacht’s momentum stalled after substitute Josh Murphy’s high shot led to another Warriors try.
