Newly acquired quarterback J.J. McCarthy is active for the New York Giants in their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, though his exact status as either the primary or secondary backup remains undetermined.
Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy noted that integrating the signal-caller depends heavily on daily evaluations of how much playbook information he can successfully handle. In addition to McCarthy dressing for the contest, the organization promoted Jake Haener and Trace Ford from the practice squad to bolster the active roster.
For Sunday's game, the Giants reported zero players missing due to injuries, leading to seven healthy scratches. Among the inactive players are running back Devin Singletary, outside linebacker JihadWard, and safety Ar'Darius Washington, while Tyrone Tracy steps in as the third running back.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals released their own inactive player list, which includes quarterback Carson Beck and several others.
