Geno Smith marked his return under center for the New York Jets by guiding the franchise to a 23-10 road triumph against the Tennessee Titans in their 2026 opener. The veteran signal-caller, whose previous start for New York occurred 3,612 days prior, connected on 19 of his 24 attempts to accumulate 215 aerial yards at Nissan Stadium.

His production accelerated following the break, having recorded only 90 yards through the air across an initial two quarters played conservatively.

The victory gave new head coach Aaron Glenn a successful debut in his inaugural regular-season outing at the helm. New York largely dictated the contest through its defensive unit and rushing attack, ultimately compiling 367 yards of total offense to leave Nashville at 1-0 while dropping Tennessee to 0-1.
