Florida State head coach Mike Norvell expressed strong dissatisfaction with the officiating crew following his squad's 43-35 double-overtime defeat against Miami. Norvell pointed to two critical moments during the final possession, including a holding penalty that erased a 36-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ashton Daniels to Micahi Danzy, and a game-ending interception ruling on a pass intended for Duce Robinson that was defended by Bryce Fitzgerald.
According to Norvell, the same officiating crew was involved in a similar late-game penalty situation during a loss for the program the previous year. While ESPN rules analyst Steve Shaw backed the final interception decision regarding possession, Norvell maintained that simultaneous possession should have favored the offense.
