The Los Angeles Chargers have added veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad after bringing him in for a workout. A two-time Super Bowl winner during his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling spent the preseason in training camp with the Dallas Cowboys before his release.
Across his professional career, the former Pittsburgh Steelers pass-catcher has accumulated 219 catches, 3,686 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.
Los Angeles made the roster maneuver following multiple injuries at the position during their opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Ladd McConkey is day-to-day because of a rib issue, while returner Derius Davis is also day-to-day with an unspecified ailment.
Additionally, rookie KeAndre Lambert-Smith landed on injured reserve with a hamstring problem, prompting the franchise to promote Gary Jennings to the active roster.
