Former Red Sox Skipper Alex Cora Reportedly Turns Down Phillies Job

Alex Cora has declined an offer to lead the Philadelphia Phillies, marking his second rejection of the position in less than six months. The former Boston manager informed Dave Dombrowski of his intention to remain away from the dugout through 2027 to prioritize family time, despite still being under contract with his previous club.

Following the departure of Rob Thomson in April, Don Mattingly served as interim manager, guiding the team to a wild-card appearance before their postseason exit against Atlanta. While reports suggest the organization may transition Mattingly into a front-office capacity, no official announcement regarding his future has been made.
