Florida State and Louisville release initial availability report ahead of Friday night clash

Florida State (3-2, 1-1 ACC) looks to extend its momentum after defeating Virginia by heading into its first meeting with Louisville (2-3, 1-2) since the 2023 ACC Championship Game. The Seminoles enter Friday’s 7 PM ESPN matchup with a defensive unit facing key absences, including standout linebacker Blake Nichelson and cornerbacks Zae Thomas and Jamari Howard, all listed as out.

Darryll Desir, a dominant defensive lineman, remains questionable after missing last week’s game, while Ja’Bril Rawls, another defensive back, was not included in the initial availability report, suggesting he may still be recovering from recent injuries. On the other side, Louisville’s offense will lean heavily on quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, who was listed as probable after being questionable last week, though he did start against NC State in the team’s previous outing.

The Cardinals also face notable absences, including starting offensive tackle Bryten Close and tight end Travis Egan, both out for the game, while defensive back Antonio Watts and punter Jacob Baker are also sidelined.
