Florida HC Jon Sumrall Earns Award After Fast Start to 2026 Season

First-year Florida head coach Jon Sumrall has secured the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Month award following an undefeated four-game opening stretch. Under his leadership, the Gators achieved their highest scoring output and scoring differential across the first four games of a debut season, highlighted by a dominant victory over Ole Miss at their home stadium.

Star running back Jadan Baugh has propelled himself into early Heisman discussions by accumulating six hundred rushing yards and eleven touchdowns on eighty-three carries, supported by Georgia Tech transfer quarterback Aaron Philo. Sumrall successfully convinced Baugh to return during the winter holidays, setting the stage for a dramatic program turnaround that currently features a national ranking and an upcoming road test against Missouri.
