First blood to England in ODI series after Will Jacks helps see off Sri Lanka

England secured an opening victory in the one-day international series against Sri Lanka following a controlled performance on a tired pitch. Harry Brook led the batting effort with a top score of 67 runs, helping push the total to 265 before the visitors were dismissed for 176.

All-rounder Will Jacks contributed significantly to the winning effort by scoring an unbeaten 46 runs and claiming five wickets with the ball. The squad now holds a one-nil lead heading into the second fixture scheduled at Headingley.
