Ex-Jets offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker lands on IR again in latest Patriots crusher
The New England Patriots have placed offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker on injured reserve after he suffered a hamstring injury during a 26-19 victory over the New York Jets. This marks the fourth time in six professional seasons that the 27-year-old former first-round pick has been placed on IR, following previous season-ending triceps injuries in 2022 and 2025, and a torn Achilles in 2023.
He had started the first six games of the season at left guard after signing a three-year, $42 million deal with New England this offseason.
New England, currently 4-2 and seeking a four-game winning streak, will be without Vera-Tucker and right guard Ben Brown, who is sidelined with a knee injury. To fill the gaps in the offensive line, the team will utilize veteran Matt Pryor and Walter Rouse, with Rouse expected to make his NFL debut start.
