The Atlanta Dream face a logistical challenge as they prepare to host WNBA Finals games, with scheduling conflicts at their primary home arena, State Farm Arena, forcing a last-minute venue search. The team’s usual home, Gateway Center Arena in College Park, holds just over 3,500 fans—a far cry from the 17,000-seat capacity of State Farm, where the Dream will begin playing full-time in 2027.
Conflicts with NBA Hawks games and a major concert on October 22 and 24 have ruled out State Farm for Games 3, 4, and potentially 6, leaving the Dream with limited options. Their only viable alternative appears to be Gas South Arena in Duluth, a 13,000-seat venue roughly 30 miles northeast of Atlanta, which previously hosted a WNBA Finals game during Atlanta’s 2013 appearance.
Despite efforts to secure a larger venue, reports indicate the Dream may be forced to play at Gateway Center Arena, limiting fan attendance and financial impact during their first Finals run since 2013.
