ESPN's Angel Reese Top WNBA Finals Ranking Highlights Gabby Williams' Media Grievance

Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams said the media has never respected her and she doesn’t expect praise, a sentiment she voiced before Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. The Valkyries have advanced to the championship after winning five of six postseason games, including a sweep of the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals, and Williams has been highlighted as one of the league’s elite players.

ESPN’s latest top‑15 player ranking placed Atlanta Dream guard Angel Reese at No. 1, with Williams at No. 2 despite her 22.7 points per game in the playoffs compared with Reese’s 18. Both have been praised for defense and are expected to deliver strong performances in the series.
