England fast bowler Wood retires from internationals

Thirty-six year old England speedster Mark Wood has announced an immediate retirement from all international competition due to persistent physical ailments. The Durham fast bowler concluded his career after failing to overcome a troublesome left knee issue that flared up during the opening Test match of the series in Australia late last year.

Wood captured 119 dismissals across 38 Test appearances following his initial selection in 2015, while also contributing significantly to victorious campaigns in both the 50-over and T20 World Cups.
