Ed Orgeron returns to recruiting trail as LSU pushes to flip 5-star Texas commit

The former LSU coach, currently serving as a special assistant focusing on defense and recruiting, was joined by receivers coach and passing game coordinator George McDonald during the contest in New Orleans.

Royal has been committed to Texas since last November, but the standout wide receiver remains a major target in a high-profile recruiting battle involving both LSU and Florida. The nation's top-ranked 2027 prospect has already taken September visits to Baton Rouge, Austin, and Gainesville, with an upcoming unofficial trip to Gainesville planned for October 10.
