Dustin Johnson is spearheading a group of over ten LIV Golf participants to recover $100 million in unpaid contract earnings following the organization's bankruptcy filing and the withdrawal of Saudi PIF funding. Represented by attorney David Cornwell, the athletes are seeking severance payments and have indicated they will not join the league's planned 2027 successor, LIV 2.0.
This development follows reports that the PIF offered only two cents on the dollar to settle these obligations, even as the tour previously distributed $15.6 million in retention bonuses to executives like Scott O'Neil. Other notable players involved in the push include Bubba Watson and Thomas Detry, while several stars like Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, Ian Poulter, and Sergio Garcia have already exited the circuit.
