Duke Slammed by ESPN in College Football Playoff Projection

Despite launching into a four-win start and an eight-match win streak featuring an ACC title, Manny Diaz and his Blue Devils remain excluded from the College Football Playoff picture according to ESPN analyst Heather Dinich. Even with standout contributions from NCAA rushing leader Nate Sheppard and quarterback Walker Eget following Darian Mensah's departure, the team finds itself unranked ahead of its bye week.

Duke has powered through several matchups so far, handling William and Mary 62-7, edging Tulane by two scores, defeating Illinois 31-27, and topping Stanford 35-7. The squad now faces an upcoming schedule featuring North Carolina, Virginia, Boston College, NC State, Clemson, Wake Forest, and fourth-ranked Miami.
