Top-ranked Georgia suffered its initial defeat of the 2026 season on Saturday, falling 27-24 to Auburn after surrendering an early fourteen-point lead. Quarterback Gunner Stockton committed three turnovers during the contest, while a sluggish ground attack hampered the Bulldogs as the unranked Tigers secured their first win in the series since 2017.

Following the narrow upset, the team slipped from the top spot down to fifth in the national rankings and will have a couple of weeks to regroup.
