Disturbing allegations from ex-NBA star J.R. Smith’s assault arrest emerge

Former professional basketball player J.R. Smith was taken into police custody following a traffic stop in Texas earlier this week.

Court paperwork indicates he faces an allegation of causing physical harm to a female household member through physical contact on September 18. His legal representative emphasized that the athlete is entitled to the presumption of innocence and intends to address the matter through the judicial system.

Jail documentation shows the former Laker was released after posting a five thousand dollar bond and has an upcoming court appearance scheduled for later this month.
