Detroit Lions film breakdown: The trained eyes of Jared Goff

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Drew Petzing recently praised Jared Goff for his exceptional processing speed during play-action sequences. Petzing noted that Goff excels at recalibrating his reads when defenses attempt to disguise coverages after he turns his back to the field.

This skill was on display during a recent game against the Green Bay Packers, a team known for their elite secondary and complex defensive schemes. Goff successfully navigated these challenges, completing 8 of 11 play-action attempts for 140 yards.

His performance earned a 145.1 passer rating and a +0.55 EPA per dropback, marking one of the most efficient outings of the week.
