Dallas signs Tyler Goodson, cuts Israel Abanikanda

Following an opening-week defeat against the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys have adjusted their offensive backfield by acquiring running back Tyler Goodson directly from the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad. To make room for the addition on the 53-man roster, Dallas parted ways with Israel Abanikanda.

Goodson, who previously played for the Indianapolis Colts and impressed for Atlanta during the exhibition season, leaves the Falcons with thinned depth at the position. While Dallas addressed its ground attack following limited rushing production in Week 1, the front office chose not to incorporate outside defensive reinforcements heading into their second matchup.
