The Dallas Cowboys' struggles in three phases of play became glaringly evident in their 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, extending their skid to two games. The Cowboys' offensive woes were on full display early, as two turnovers in the second quarter allowed the Packers to build a commanding lead.
Green Bay capitalized on those mistakes, scoring ten points off turnovers and holding the ball for over nine minutes in the second quarter alone, following a 14-play, six-and-a-half-minute drive that ended in a touchdown. Despite evening out the time-of-possession battle later in the game, the Cowboys' offense remained one-dimensional, heavily reliant on play-calling against Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.
The offense's inability to sustain momentum was further highlighted by inefficient play-calling, including a behind-the-line pass to running back Javonte Williams that resulted in a punt. The Cowboys' fatigue and lack of offensive creativity left them unable to overcome their early mistakes, marking another disappointing performance for the offense under Brian Schottenheimer.
