The Milwaukee Brewers extended their commanding lead in the National League Championship Series with a 7-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 at American Family Field. The contest remained tightly contested through five innings, with both teams trading early runs.
The Dodgers struck first in the top of the first when Mookie Betts advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Teoscar Hernández. The Brewers answered immediately, however, as Brice Turang’s double and William Contreras’s RBI single tied the game.
The Dodgers reclaimed the lead in the third after a Cooper Pratt fielding error and a botched pickoff attempt by Logan Henderson loaded the bases, but the Brewers rallied again with a two-run rally sparked by Jake Bauers’s walk with the bases loaded, setting up Christian Yelich’s clutch RBI hit to take the lead. Contreras later delivered the game-sealing blow in the fifth with a home run, capping a dominant Brewers performance that now puts them two games up in the series.
