College football’s top Cowboys draft targets in Week 5

As the college football season reaches Week 5, unbeaten programs Alabama and Mississippi State prepare to collide after starting their campaigns with four consecutive victories. Analysts are using the marquee matchup to spotlight future NFL draft prospects who could catch the attention of the Dallas Cowboys, particularly with the franchise currently managing injuries and uncertainty within its defensive secondary.

Among the key names drawing early attention is cornerback Zabien Brown of Alabama, whose patience and technique in coverage have established him as a premier talent in the 2027 draft class. Another standout is Mississippi State cornerback Kelley Jones, a towering defender who finished second in the SEC in passes defended last year and offers the physical traits that could bolster an NFL defensive backfield.
