Clohessy and Gallagher handed first Ireland starts

Ireland head coach Scott Bemand has unveiled his lineup for the upcoming Test fixture against Japan at Virgin Media Park in Cork, promoting Jane Clohessy and Niamh Gallagher into the starting XV for the very first time. The team enters this weekend's encounter following a victory over the same opponents in Galway last Sunday, with further international fixtures scheduled against South Africa later in October.

Erin King is set to captain the side from the flank alongside a mix of seasoned internationals and emerging talent, while Sophie Barrett, Kate Jordan, and Alana McInerney prepare for potential debuts among the substitutes.
