Christian Mahogany injury update: Detroit Lions LG carted off (knee)

Detroit Lions starting left guard Christian Mahogany sustained a knee issue during the opening quarter of the team's Week 1 contest against the New Orleans Saints. Following the incident, the interior offensive lineman had to be transported off the field on a cart and was deemed questionable to make a comeback to the game.

The setback came after head coach Dan Campbell saw his squad enter the season opener in relatively strong physical condition, with defensive back Christian Izien having been the lone player carrying a questionable tag on the conclusive pregame status log. Alongside Ahmed Hassanein, Izien was ultimately named among the club's five inactive contributors prior to kickoff, while teammates Derrick Moore and Mekhi Wingo were both cleared following full practice participation leading into the clash.
