Quarterback Tyler Shough also established a new personal high in passing yardage as New Orleans mounted an intense rally following a sluggish start.
However, the effort narrowly missed the mark on the road at Ford Field, where the Saints dropped an overtime thriller to the Detroit Lions by a 31-30 margin to move to 0-1.
